Walking Beside Death: One man’s Journey from Drift to Direction

September 2023, a month forever etched in my memory – the time I walked beside death and survived.

My name is Jeremy Sauvé, a devoted husband, a proud father of two incredible children, and Associate Pastor serving at The Bridge in Ottawa, Canada.

On September 4, 2023, after sustaining a significant injury to my left forearm, I contracted Necrotizing Fasciitis, a rare and serious disease. In Canada, this disease affects 90-200 individuals yearly, with a sobering 1 in 3 succumbing to its grip within the first 12-24 hours.

Surviving this life-altering experience has profoundly shifted my perspective and ignited a deep passion within me – a passion for sharing my thoughts, emotions, and experiences through the written word in order to lead people to Jesus.

For years now, I’ve felt a more profound story growing within me, and through this journey, I feel that it is being born. My writing aims to delve into life’s profound themes, helping us uncover meaning and discover God’s presence amid the unfolding circumstances of our lives.
